Sheila Beeney (Coneypark) I have been showing and breeding Shetland Sheepdogs since the 1960’s and have also had Papillons, a Rough Collie and a Chinese Crested. My husband had Terriers so over the last fifty years we have owned and enjoyed a wide variety of breeds. I had always admired Smooth Collies and in 2009 decided that the time was right to have one. Saffi came to us at eight weeks from her breeder Kate Giddings and we were smitten. We now also have three more: Ellie, Kiefer and Ginny.
I judge and give CCs in shelties and for many years (when younger and more agile) I competed in and judged obedience. I am also a Kennel Club Assured Breeder.
I live in North Devon and the dogs enjoy walking the moors and woodland around us. We are always happy to have visits from anyone who is interested in having a smooth collie and would like to meet them.
Jo Denton (Brackenhaye) I have owned Smooth Collies since the late 1980's and have also had Rough
Collies. Rough Collies have been a part of my husband's family since very early
childhood and he introduced me to both of these wonderful breeds.
Smooth Collie "Cassie", Kissing Cousin Alopex, joined us when we
first had a home of our own, and we will
always be very grateful to Isobel and
Tony Griffiths for letting her become part of our family . We were smitten and
soon acquired her grandson "Haggis", Alopex Dress Gordon, and have
always had at least one smoothy ever since.
We now have
four dogs, Ovo and Ivan who are both
Smooth Collies, Teddy who is a Rough Collie and Archie who is a rough coated
I first became
involved in the world of dog showing with Teddy in 2008 and am now enjoying
showing both the Smooth Collies.
I am looking
forward to having a little more spare time in the near future to enable Ovo to
become a mother so we can hopefully contribute to the future of this wonderful
but rare breed.
